Walmart has now officially confirmed Switch 2 will be back in-stock online tonight, here are the details

Walmart has now officially confirmed with 9to5Toys that it will be offering Nintendo Switch 2 consoles both online and in-store this week. We very much expected Walmart to get in on the action, but it was all speculation up until now.

While there has been some issues with some of the pre-orders folks thought they secured at Walmart back in April – some of them got cancelled, it does appear as though most of them are going to go through at this point. The retailer, as part of today’s official confirmation, is also pointing out that it will still be honoring free delivery by 9 a.m. local time on June 5 for folks who have already secured a pre-order.

Now on to the new stuff. Walmart reps have now reached out to 9to5Toys to confirm that it will indeed have more Switch 2 consoles up for grabs later this week for launch day. I think everyone, ourselves included, assumed this would be the case, but now we know for sure. It is not clear, of course, how many units will be available, but there will definitely be some and Walmart was and has been one of the best sources to land a Switch 2 ahead of release thus far, despite some of the cancellations.

Walmart has confirmed Switch 2 will be available both online and in-stores starting on June. It has told us that customers in “Pacific and Mountain-time regions will be able to shop the new console at Walmart Supercenters on June 4 at 9 p.m. PDT or 10 p.m. MDT” – so midnight ET in June 5.

It has, unfortunately, not given us a specific time for online orders, but it is likely they will go live right at midnight ET on June 5, and perhaps again the following day to do battle with Target – Target has confirmed its online orders will go live one day after launch on June 6.
